GREAT ACE ATTORNEY IS OUT NOW IN THE WEST! (AUGUST 4TH, 2021)
I know it's pretty late to be saying it here, as the compilation released near the end of July, but Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has finally officially released in English and is available worldwide. While a handful of names were the left the same, some were still changed, so this has the same level of charm as the localizations of older games. In the end, I'm just glad people in the west can get their hands on the game now.
GREAT ACE ATTORNEY CHRONICLES OFFICAILLY CONFIRMED FOR WESTERN RELEASE (APRIL 21ST, 2021)
We've been following the leaks for a while now and Capcom has finally confirmed that "The Great Ace Attorney" will finally be headed west in the form of a two pack. It will be releasing July 27th on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Steam. A lot of the stuff from the leaks like the name changes have been confirmed to be true, although all the characters from Japan will be using the same names. One interesting thing is that the Switch version will have a physical release and in the US only. It's cool that we're getting a physical copy of an Ace Attorney game in 2021, especially since the last time was around 2009-2010. This also happens to be the first major "new" title from Ace Attorney to be released on home consoles, rather than handhelds. What a great way to start us off. We're still hoping for news on Ace Attorney 7, but it's still great this is coming out.
VERY HIGH CHANCES OF DAI GYAKUTEN SAIBAN LOCALIZATION (NOVEMBER 23RD, 2020)
Recently, Capcom was hacked into. While it's unfortunate that this data wasn't really obtained legally, the stolen information included some good news. Among Capcom's upcoming titles, there is a complication of Dai Gyakuten Saiban 1 & 2 coming to both the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam. There isn't anything about an Xbox One version, likely due to the Ace Attorney Trilogy selling very poorly on that console. What's interesting about this upcoming compilation is that it will be a dual language release. Yeah, that's right: the Japanese version will be playable in both Japanese and English. Since it's being translated, the must have figured it'd be a waste not to release it overseas as well. However, there are some copyright issues so some things would have to be changed. A lot of Sherlock Holmes stuff isn't public domain in the states and a handful of content creators have gotten in trouble for including him in their works.
Leaked screenshots show that they are making some changes to avoid these copyright issues. However, because of copyright, the western release will not be dual audio but will likely be playable in Japanese as well. The voice acting for the game seems to have been done at some studio in the U.K. It currently isn't known what studio it was. As for the rest of the game, it seems that they are going to stay true to the protagonist's Japanese heritage for this release, which is a first for the series since most change the game enough to take place in California. A lot of evidence in Japan where the game starts will still be in Japanese, with English subtitles. For the most part, a lot of the character names will stay the same. Since most of the game takes place in England, a portion of the work is already done since a lot of content has already been taken care of. The series localization director worked on the English portions of the original Japanese releases, after all. Currently, Capcom hasn't said anything but they did send out a copyright claim on leaked screenshots, so that might actually confirm that this is legit.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR ACE ATTORNEY? (AUGUST 24TH, 2019)
When it comes to Ace Attorney news, things have been real quiet since there hasn't really been anything new to announce. The only major thing to happen with the series recently is the original trilogy getting ported for the millionth time, meanwhile long-time fans are thirsting for a new game. However, they don't release this updated version of the trilogy with all the languages and not too long ago, just put out a patch adding French, German, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. However, other languages are still missing. We still don't have any news on a Spanish translation. It seems Nintendo owns the rights to that translation with the original DS releases which might explain why it was not included in the recent ports.
While nothing's been said about a new game, we can be certain that something new will be announced at some point. With Tokyo Game Show coming up this fall, it's highly likely that Capcom will have something to announce about our favorite lawyers. We could hear about a new game or it may be the ports of Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, and Spirit Of Justice that were rumored a while back. With how the original trilogy came out on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, we can probably expect the next three games to do the same thing at some point. At this rate, it's highly likely that a seventh main series game will come to all the major consoles too. Either of these is more likely than another Dai Gyakuten Saiban game with how poorly its sequel sold and with how neither of these games got localized, we don't really need another reason to cry ourselves to sleep. Hopefully there will be more to announce soon!

ACE ATTORNEY TRILOGY HEADED TO MULTIPLE SYSTEMS! (SEPTEMBER 22ND, 2018)
For a while their were rumors going around that ports would be released on the Nintendo Switch along with a new game in the future. All we knew for certain was that Ace Attorney would be coming to the Switch. So far, only a portion of these rumors has been confirmed. The first trilogy of Ace Attorney games was confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch at Tokyo Game Show 2018. However, that's not all. These ports will also be releasing on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Steam soon. The best part is not long after the announcement, Capcom confirmed that we'd be getting these ports with a finished English (dubbed too) trailer. In all the years I've been an Ace Attorney fan, this is the quickest confirmation I've seen so far.
To the disappoint of a lot of fans, their wasn't much new at the recent panel. We still got another one coming though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping for something interesting. No matter what though, I am looking forward to getting these ports because they do look pretty damn good if I'm honest. There wasn't really much else that was announced at the recent panel. They covered season 2 of the anime and talked about an upcoming orchestral concert. They even showed off some art exclusive to a Japanese fan club. That's all I can announce at the moment. I will report here as soon as I can if anything good is announced at the next panel.

NEW LOOK, NEW GAME (SEPTEMBER 9TH, 2018)
If you've been here before, you've probably noticed the new look. At least, I hope you would've. Anyways, I [Dollarluigi] decided to change the look of this site to make up for not really being too active on here and behind on the news. Not only that, but I've added some information that wasn't on here. I've completed the soundtrack lists and added more to voice actor page. However, there are still a handful of voice actors from Dual Destinies and the crossover with Professor Layton that remain unknown. I've also removed anything that I felt was unnecessary to have and fixed some dead links. But that's enough about the site. What about Ace Attorney?
If you haven't been living under a rock and are a true Ace Attorney fan, you're probably aware of the rumors about Ace Attorney 7 and how it apparently has Phoenix Wright as the main protagonist yet again or that apparently the previous six games will be making their way to the Nintendo Switch in two separate collections. What we do know for certain is that the Ace Attorney team is developing something for the Switch and have said that this year or so is the year they'll make all Ace Attorney fans happy. They're saying that their show at TGS this year will be "unmissable" for Ace Attorney fans. Whatever it is, it's definitely something important to the series. We'll just have to wait and see what it is later this month. All we know is we're getting something but what we do know for certain is season 2 of the anime will start premiering this October!

Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 (May 27, 2017)
It's been ages since I've made any updates here! Anyways, Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 was official revealed around TGS 2016 and we've continued to get some more information about it! What's interesting this time around is it seems to re-use more assets than other sequels do making it some more like a part two. Even Van Zieks returns as the main prosecutor, it seems.
SPIRIT OF JUSTICE IS RATED T FOR UNITED STATES (July 2, 2016)
Today, Maya was confirmed for the western audiences, even though super-fans already knew because they've been following the Japanese updates. Anyways, the game is rated T unlike Dual Destinies, which got an M rating for its suggestive themes. Spirit of Justice is rated T for blood, violence, language, and partial nudity.
ACE ATTORNEY 6 HEADED WEST IN SEPTEMBER! (MAY 11, 2016)
Just recently, the English title of Ace Attorney 6 has been announced as "Spirit of Justice" And it is planned for release in North America and Europe in September! It already has a PEGI rating (16+), but the NA version is still not rated, but based off the PEGI rating we can assume it will likely be M. There's even an English Trailer up, confirming that Sam Riegal returns as the voice of Phoenix Wright!
more ace attorney 6 details (march 3, 2016)
What? A news update!? It's been so long, lol! Anyways, we recently received tons of details about Ace Attorney 6. Maya Fey has finally been officially confirmed to be in the game, as well as Pearl. There will also be bonus episodes for those that pre-order that Japanese version. The bonus episodes include Klavier Gavin, Miles Edgeworth, and Jinxie Tenma. Ace Attorney 6 also has anime cut scenes and DLC costumes. Also, the site is going to have a slight update as well. We will begin to feature the latest piece of news on the home page so that anyone can be in the loop whenever they come here. We also have plans to add a page or however many necessary for the upcoming Ace Attorney anime!
THE BEGINNING (DECEMBER 22, 2014)
December 22, 2014 marks the beginning of this Ace Attorney fansite made by Dollarluigi. Coincidentally, it was made not long after I had been playing Ace Attorney for a year. More content will come in the future and I hope you enjoy what we've got.
